The brake architecture is unchanged from the standard Direttissima. A 9mm pump piston feeds four stainless steel caliper pistons sized 14/17mm through a progressive toggle joint linkage, so braking force builds the further the lever travels rather than spiking at the bite point. Pressure-resistant Kevlar hoses and milled 7075 aluminum pump bodies, levers, and calipers eliminate flex in the system, and the polymer pump piston, paired with ball-bearing levers, delivers the firm, consistent bite point Trickstuff is known for. Bionol brake fluid, tool-free reach adjustment, post-mount caliper interface, and 850-form pads round out the set.

Front brake weight is 252g, rear is 268g, for a 520g total set weight that places the Direttissima among the lightest gravity-capable brakes available.
